With any Solicitors consultations Legal Costs have to be considered by every business and individual. At Shaddicks we ensure that all of our clients are fully advised on legal costs and cost ramifications right from the commencement of an action, dispute or simple advice.

Different costs agreements are needed for different applications and an appropriate one is always put in place for every case by Shaddicks’ professional team. This ensures that clients know where they stand with work and provided to clients, budgets to ensure there are no nasty hidden surprises.

Shaddicks’ current Solicitor rate is $352.00 per hour (inclusive of GST) as from 1 July 2010, this equates to $35.20 per unit of time (10 units per hour). Our fees are competitive, considering the experience of our Lawyers. Our fees are most competitive within the South West.

In compliance with the Legal Professions Act a conflict check will have to be done.  This ensures we do not act for both parties.  When contacting us initially, you will be asked the details of the other party.  If Shaddicks have recently acted for that other party, we will be unable to assist you but will happily recommend alternative solicitors who may be in a position to represent you.

In compliance with the Legal Professions Act, Shaddicks will provide you with a costs disclosure statement, Legal Practice Board forms 2 and 3 and ensure you know what charges will be raised and estimating your fees. Copies of the costs agreements terms and conditions can be found in the appropriate PDF on the costs and forms page linked below.

Please note that in the event you are provided with a costs agreement and estimate and continue to give instructions to Shaddicks then your continuing to give instructions is construed as tacit acceptance of the costs agreement terms and conditions.

As with all estimates they are subject to change. On an initial consultation the position of the other party may not be certain. Once the nature of the case changes a new estimate can be provided.

Should you have any questions in regard to costs or costs related issues on any matter dealt with by Shaddicks then please feel free to contact the Managing Partners of Shaddicks Lawyers to discuss your concerns
